FreeCORE and BSDnas are new independent forks of cancelled TrueNAS Core, based on FreeBSD 15. FreeCORE 15.0-U1 arrived August 27th, offering in-place upgrades from TrueNAS CORE 13.3. BSDnas boots in 2 GB RAM. iXsystems cancelled TrueNAS Core in 2024.
