Mastercard Launches Agent Pay for Machines

Mastercard opened early access to Agent Pay for Machines at Cloudflare Connect, where CEO Jorn Lambert demonstrated a live transaction. The system uses the x402 protocol to let AI agents pay for services via signed vouchers within human-set limits. A demo showed a marketing agent executing nine payments across two merchants, settling funds through Coinbase, Base, and BVNK.
