NIST Develops AI Model to Predict Fire Spread and Redirect Evacuees

Safe Step, an AI model from NIST and colleagues, predicts fire spread and redirects evacuees to safer exits in real time. The model uses electronic displays to show exit safety based on fire progression. It is described in the Journal of Building Engineering.
