Liquid Metal Circuits Self-Repair When Cut

Virginia Tech's VT MADE Lab created a flexible conductive composite of gallium-indium liquid metal drops inside a PDMS polymer matrix. Punctures or cuts heal as the alloy bridges broken circuits. The material is insulating until matrix bubbles are selectively popped, and it can be poured, molded or 3D printed, then baked into custom flexible circuitry for smart heat sinks and stretchable electronics.
