CATL and BYD Dominate Global EV Battery Market

South Korean firm SNE Research reports CATL and BYD held a combined 54.3% share of the global EV battery market in January-September 2026. Total installations reached 994.5 GWh, up 19.7% year-on-year, with CATL rising to 39.1% share and BYD falling to 15.2%. North American installations fell 24.3% to 85.9 GWh while Asian markets outside China grew 74.1%.
