Retail SSD market nearly gone, Silicon Motion exec says

Silicon Motion vice president Nelson Duann said the retail SSD market has almost disappeared in the first half of 2026. NAND vendors redirected supply to AI data centers, forcing PC OEMs like Acer and Dell to buy SSDs from module makers instead of directly from memory manufacturers.
