Eevi Raises Pre-Seed for Voice AI Tutor

Amsterdam-based Eevi, a voice-first AI language tutor co-founded by Filemon Schöffer and Jago Gazendam, raised a pre-seed round led by Rockstart. The startup ran a six-month closed beta from January to June 2026 with around a hundred advanced learners, rebuilding its interface around spoken conversation rather than text. It targets the fluency gap left by recognition-based apps like Duolingo.
