Lidl Deploys Driverless Truck in Germany

Lidl has begun daily commercial operations using an Einride-built, cab-less Level 4 autonomous electric truck in Germany. The vehicle runs between a logistics centre and a store in Hesse under a first-of-its-kind permit from the federal transport authority. It carries about 45 pallets per shift with no driver or safety monitor on board, overseen only by a remote operator.
