CATL says solid-state batteries not ready before 2030

CATL chairman Dr. Robin Zeng stated solid-state batteries will not reach large-scale commercialization before 2030. The company requires production volume of 1 million vehicles to justify mass deployment. Initial integration will target premium vehicles priced above 250,000 yuan. CATL rates all-solid-state chemistry at level four on the nine-point Technology Readiness Level.
