Stampede's Robot Rodeo features battle of bale-busting bots

The 2026 Calgary Stampede Robot Rodeo Agtech challenge, dubbed Bale Buster, had student teams build robots in two days to harvest miniature haybales. Teams competed for a $10,000 prize pool at Calgary's BMO Centre. The event is a joint initiative between the Calgary Stampede's Youth Initiatives Committee and Western Mechatronics.
