Google Cloud announced general availability of Memorystore for Valkey 9.1, claiming up to 3x queries per second at microsecond latency versus Memorystore for Redis Cluster. The release adds database-level access control, the CLUSTERSCAN command, and atomic HGETDEL and MSETEX operations. Valkey emerged in 2024 after Redis Inc. changed its license, with Google backing the Linux Foundation fork.
