ByteDance launches dedicated AI safety department

ByteDance's Seed AI lab establishes a new Model-Alignment & Preparedness department on October 13. Yan Lin leads the unit, which will develop model-behavior specifications and address chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear risks associated with advanced models.
