PlanetScale launched Neki, a sharded Postgres platform in preview, to scale databases past single-machine limits to hundreds of millions of QPS and petabytes of data. Neki uses real Postgres on every shard, with a router, sidecars, and control plane for online resharding, schema changes, and failovers without downtime.
