China's top 10 cars in May all powered by electric technology

In May 2025, all top 10 passenger car sales in China were new energy vehicles. Geely Xingyuan led with 38,751 units sold, followed by Tesla Model Y at 28,911 units. ICE vehicles vanished from the top 10, having dropped from seven in January to zero by May. The top 20 included four fuel-powered models, including Geely Boyue r.
