
A working paper from the National Bureau of Economic Research links America's plummeting birth rate to the iPhone's 2007 release. In the first four years, geographies with iPhone access saw births drop 4.5% to 8% for ages 15 to 19 and 3.2% to 6.6% for ages 20 to 24. The study suggests smartphone use causes people to have fewer children.
