China's new open-source model accelerates AI hacking threat

Z.ai's GLM-5.2, an open-source model with agentic capabilities rivaling Claude Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.5, costs roughly half as much to run. Two separate security evaluations from Graphis found the model lowers the barrier for malicious hackers to automate and personalize attacks.
