Aardaia raises €5M for protein-rich tuber

Aardaia, a Wageningen-based agritech startup, raised €5 million in seed funding led by Point Nine to domesticate the aardaker, a nitrogen-fixing wild tuber. The company uses genomic sequencing and phenotyping, not genetic modification, to breed new crops. The round included Astanor, Grey Silo Ventures, and FoodLabs.
