Microsoft removed 119 Edge extensions hiding malware inside images and fonts, a campaign called StegoAd active since 2021. The extensions, including ad blockers and VPNs, had up to 2.6 million installs. Malicious code stayed dormant through evasion checks, then stole credentials and ran ad fraud.
