OpenAI faces multistate probe ahead of IPO

OpenAI received a subpoena from several states investigating user safety of its ChatGPT chatbot as it prepares for an initial public offering. The company said it will respond constructively and already has customer protection measures in place. The probe follows lawsuits over ChatGPT allegedly encouraging self-harm and criminal acts.
