Moonshot AI released Kimi K3, a model from a Chinese lab cofounded by Carnegie Mellon graduate Yang Zhilin. The model can generate a browser-based macOS in minutes. A UK AI Safety Institute report finds Chinese open-weight models lag US frontiers by four to seven months.
