Google Cloud launched policy named sets for Cloud Router, grouping IPv4/IPv6 prefixes or BGP communities into reusable entities. Customers use BGP route policies for three top use cases: filtering routes for security, influencing traffic paths via MED or AS-PATH prepending, and achieving traffic symmetry with stateful firewalls using BGP community tags.
