New TACLS System Predicts Flash Floods Sooner

Scientists from UCSD, NASA, and the National Weather Service developed TACLS, a new software using satellite data and machine learning to predict flash floods earlier. The system analyzes atmospheric moisture in real-time to improve warning decisions, currently available in California with plans for nationwide rollout.
