Linux developer Lorenzo Stoakes of Arm used an LLM to locate kernel bottlenecks. The AI's generated fixes were 'hideous' and required extensive auditing and rewrites. Build times improved dramatically: allmodconfig up to 36% faster, incremental ~70%, noop ~90%.
