UK Facial Recognition Trial: 500K Scans, Zero Arrests

British Transport Police scanned over 500,000 faces at London railway stations during a six-month live facial recognition trial costing more than 320,000 pounds. The technology produced one alert, a false positive, and no arrests. BTP extended the pilot through November and expanded it to selected Underground stations, where three confirmed alerts have since occurred.
