An Anthropic PBC report published in late July reveals AI agents successfully weakened HAWK, a NIST post-quantum digital signature candidate. Researchers using Claude Mythos Preview demonstrated how classical compute can attack cryptographic algorithms, bypassing the need for quantum computers to decrypt data held by CISA, NSA, and NIST since 2023.
