Hundreds of Meta contractors posed as minors to probe how rival chatbots from OpenAI, Google, and Character.AI responded to prompts about suicide, sex, and self-harm. The project, managed by Covalen and called Cannes, ran over 45,000 prompts in one round. The targeted companies were unaware of the testing.
