Renault EV demand up 50% in France and Germany due to Iran war

Renault reported 50% higher EV demand in France and Germany since US-Israel strikes on Iran. Sales of fully electric cars in Europe rose 29% to nearly 1 million units in first four months of 2026. Renault CEO Francois Provost said production at Douai, Maubeuge and Novo Mesto factories is being considered for expansion to meet supply needs.
