Flip Dot Fluid Simulation Debuts at EMF 2026

Maker mitxela built a large flip dot display running a fluid simulation, shown at EMF 2026. Sourcing surplus flip dots and driving them proved painful, requiring custom backpack driver boards and heavy soldering. A GRAVITY CONTROL joystick lets attendees shift the display, while an accelerometer makes it react to movement.
