Delhi HC Orders Land Sale Payout to Heirs

The Delhi High Court ordered a brother-in-law to pay Rs 2.27 crore to his late sister-in-law's daughters. He had misused a general power of attorney to sell 26 bighas of Najafgarh land for Rs 6.95 crore in 2011, paying her only Rs 72 lakh of her Rs 1.73 crore share. The court ruled he acted as an agent and must return the shortfall with 8% interest.
