Media Execs Push Congress on AI Scraping Bill

More than 300 news publishers, including Condé Nast, Hearst and USA Today, are in Washington today to lobby Congress for the Stealth Bot Prohibition Act, introduced in July. The bill would force AI crawlers to identify themselves. Bot traffic now exceeds 60% of internet traffic, and AI bot scrapes hit 22 billion in the first half of 2026.
