Jeff Butts installed TrueNAS 26 beta on his NAS as a test, not an upgrade. The beta includes browser-based sharing (WebShare), better search (TrueSearch), and newer OpenZFS work. Butts treated the install as a lab project with backups and a rollback plan, avoiding risk to irreplaceable data.
