EU AI Act, the high-risk classification guidelines explained

The European Commission released draft guidelines on 19 May 2026 defining when AI systems qualify as high-risk under the EU AI Act. The guidelines specify that high-risk status applies to systems posing significant harm to health and safety or adverse impact on fundamental rights.
