Volkswagen will replace the retired ID.4 with the ID.Tiguan, arriving in Europe in early 2027 and later in the US. The electric Tiguan keeps the MEB platform and adds physical buttons for windows, volume and climate. The ID.4 sold 950,000 units since 2021 before production ended in April 2026. VW aims to leverage the Tiguan name, which has over 8.3 million units produced, as it cuts costs amid a 1% profit margin outlook for 2026.
