Samsung discontinues the Samsung Messages app for Galaxy phones sold in the United States starting Monday, July 6. Google Messages becomes the default messaging application and blocks users from downloading the old app via the Galaxy Store. Existing conversations transfer automatically when owners install the new software before the deadline.
