Italy's postal service enters AI infrastructure race

Poste Italiane, Italy's state-controlled postal service, is positioning itself as a contender in European AI infrastructure. The company is tightening its grip on Telecom Italia (TIM) to build domestic computing capacity. Poste plans to convert former mail-sorting hubs into edge-computing sites, leveraging its nationwide network to compete with US hyperscalers.
