BYD Beats Tesla, Again

BYD sold 557,090 battery electric vehicles in Q2 2026, beating Tesla's 480,126. Tesla had its fourth best sales quarter ever but lost the global BEV crown. BYD has now held the top spot for five of the last six quarters. BYD also outsold Tesla in total passenger vehicles for the 17th consecutive quarter.
