Prela, a new query language from UCLA RePL, uses only binary relations to simplify SQL. A toy Python version demonstrates queries like movie.where(company.s(country).eq("[us]")).select(title) in 11 lines, versus 20+ in SQL. The language composes relations like functions, with operators.select, &,.eq, and.where.
