Big Tech companies have been fined $3.5 billion across 10 sanctions between 2022 and 2026 for using personal data without consent to train AI models. Surfshark analyzed fines against Anthropic, Meta, Google, Clearview, Apple, Amazon, and OpenAI. Nine of ten fines involved unlawful use of biometric data, facial images, and children's voice recordings.
