Tesla grabs 51% of US EV market as rivals struggle

April EV registrations hit 89,147, down 9.8% year-over-year but the strongest month of 2026 so far. Tesla registrations jumped 13% to 45,800, capturing a 51% market share. The Model Y surged 61% to 31,001 registrations. Toyota and Kia also posted strong gains.
