FreeBSD Desktop AMIs Land on AWS

Colin Percival, a FreeBSD release engineering lead, announced desktop Amazon Machine Images on Thursday. The AMIs bundle KDE, Chromium and LibreOffice, and use Remote Desktop Protocol to mimic Windows VMs. Percival designed them as an on-ramp for new users, bootable under the AWS Free Tier. He has asked Amazon to mark AMIs as RDP-enabled.
