GitHub's Blackbird code search engine indexes over 180 million repositories, more than 480TB of source code. A new Rust crate called casefold folds ASCII at over 45 GiB/s by removing early-exit branches, enabling full vectorization. The crate implements only simple 1-to-1 Unicode folds, matching ripgrep's restrictions.
