USAF Weighs Unmanned Tankers to Replace KC-135, KC-46

The US Air Force is studying a future refueling aircraft that could fly without a crew, replacing the KC-135 and KC-46. The idea gained ground after Boeing's MQ-25 Stingray drone flew in 2026 and the Navy cleared it for low-rate production, ordering three more for 14 total. Range remains the obstacle.
