Bungie Overhauls Marathon Beyond Extraction

Bungie announced a major overhaul of Marathon, shifting away from its extraction roots to attract more players. An October Nightfall refresh adds a free rewards pass and sponsored kit queues. December brings a PvE mode, Symbiosis, plus Team Deathmatch. A larger revamp arrives next March with new onboarding, questline, zone, and enemy. The game's PC player numbers have continued to dwindle.
