Gotion to build battery facilities in Spain next year

Chinese manufacturer Gotion High-Tech will invest approximately €950 million to build a cathode production facility and recycling plant near Valladolid, Spain. Construction begins in 2027 with government grants totaling €138 million under the PERTE funding programme. The first phase processes up to 200,000 tonnes of battery material annually while Gotion plans future expansion alongside its Morocco operations.
