Fraunhofer IFAM develops CFRP hydrogen tank manufacturing

Fraunhofer IFAM researchers, with HYTANK project partners, developed manufacturing and joining technologies for large-format, double-walled CFRP hydrogen tanks. The work covers surface pretreatments, functional barrier layers, and automated 1:1 scale production including machining and adhesive-bonding assembly to enable efficient future production.
