China cracks down on Western AI models

China's Ministry of State Security warned users that accessing US AI models like Anthropic's Fable via third-party tools poses security risks and potential cyber espionage backdoors. Meanwhile, US companies continue adopting Chinese open-source models such as DeepSeek, Qwen 3.6, and GLM 5.1 for cheaper alternatives.
