Google Mandiant and GTIG attribute a U.S. data theft extortion campaign to UNC3753, also known as Chatty Spider and Silent Ransom Group. The group uses vishing and social engineering to gain remote access, then exfiltrates proprietary legal agreements, PII, and financial records. In some cases, attackers physically enter offices posing as IT technicians to steal data via USB media.
