Rocket Lab acquires Iridium in $8 billion deal

Rocket Lab is acquiring Iridium Communications in an $8 billion cash-and-stock deal, giving the launch company a global satellite network with 80 satellites and licensed spectrum. The transaction, unanimously approved by both boards, is expected to close by mid-2027 and positions Rocket Lab as a vertically integrated competitor to SpaceX and Amazon.
