China Unveils Lifelike Underwater Robot Fish

China showcased the BG-5 Golden Dragon Fish, a 3-kg autonomous underwater robot developed by Boyagongdao Marine Technology Group. The biomimetic robot mimics a golden arowana, using a multi-joint tail for propulsion instead of a propeller. It was demonstrated at the 2026 CIFTIS in Beijing and features onboard sensors for autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance.
