New Exoskeleton Reduces Diver Air Use

Chinese researchers led by professor Wu Xinyu published a study in Science Robotics on Oct. 21 detailing a soft underwater exosuit named PEAKED. The device reduced respiratory minute volume by 29.77% during flutter kicking, 25.70% during frog kicking and 18.35% during underwater walking, potentially transforming diving efficiency.
